Negotiated resolutions are the most common, cost and time effective resolutions for disputes handled as a family lawyer with knowledge of your situation and how it relates to the law.

Negotiation is by phone, letter and if necessary, a round table meeting of the parties and their lawyers. Once a deal is reached, it is recorded in a contract. If it involves property, that contract is an Agreement under section 21 of the Property (Relationships) Act 1976.

Negotiation is an ongoing process, even if mediation and litigation are in progress. Disputes can be resolved by consent at any stage of the dispute.
